M&M (Malaysia & Malaysian) #1 - Petrol Price Hike
June 09, 08 by -FCUK-June 5 marks an important history for Malaysia. It’s not the hike in petrol prices, but the RM 625 which can be obtained by Malaysians per year for every car (2000 cc and below) registered under his or her name. Wow? Since when does our government give us free money? Free money from Malaysian government wei. Mai Siao Siao (Don’t be crazy). Kinda cool isn’t it? Yes? No? I guess it’s not too bad considering that we need to fork out extra money for our petrol and yeah the prices will definitely increase again.
The effect of the price hike on households varies. For those who has a car which is more than 2000 cc, it’s a headache. For those with 3/4/5/6+ kids, that would be totally devastating for them, because children in this country need to go for tuition. Some Kia Su virus has been spread to Malaysia and it’s hard for them to score the so called important A’s if they don’t go to tuition. Lucky for me, I have a financial plan to accommodate for the extra costs.
Let’s see, my full tank is around RM 65 at the old rate, RM 1.92 per liters, which is around 34 liters. Under the new rat, it would be 34 x RM 2.700 = RM 92. So if I have to refill my car till full tank three times a month, I would have to pay RM 81 extra monthly and RM 972 yearly. After deducting the government’s free money, RM 625, I would have to pay extra RM 350 per year. This means that I have to save an extra RM 1 every day. This also means that for every 1 hour I spend in my university’s library, instead of going to cyber cafe, will help me to save for 2 days. Also if I bring my own water to drink for every mamak night, instead of a Milo Ais, I will save for another 1 day.
That’s my new financial plan. What I am trying to say here is that one’s lifestyle has to change (without the help of the government) and mamak isn’t that healthy anyway. Water = live longer. One should alter one’s savings on a daily basis with discipline in order to pay for the extra cots. This way, it would definitely help since we have to stand on our own feet, without the help from the government.
How I wish we have Tiberium
