Nottingham’s New Teaching Block

March 30, 08 by -FCUK-

Hmm, the images are not really that good after I have resize them to 500px X 375px.

The University of Nottingham (Malaysia campus), has just finished building a new teaching block, F3 to accommodate more students and also to make more rooms available for different modules (subjects). The new block has already being used for nearly 6 months now and the interior design is certainly different from the first teaching block.

Here are some construction photos of the new block.

Block F3

Isn’t it beautiful when it has finished? 3 floors of teaching hall, and a good tone of colour.

Block F3

The block is linked with a bridge connecting to the library. Sadly, there’s no beautiful river or pond below the bridge, unless a downpour happens.

Block F3

The emergency stairs, but also the main route for students to go to class.

Block F3

Yeah, even though there are 3 floors, we have lifts. Every block in the campus which has more than 1 floor will have a lift.

Block F3

Great view from the block. Beautiful scenery at Nottingham. Don’t worry, you will see a lot of this, from around the campus.

Block F3

Ops, probably not a good view for this. Cars getting clamped for parking in a non-student spot. RM 50 will be fined.

Block F3

Now, on to a sneak peak of the lecture rooms.

This is the seating design for one of the lecture rooms. There is another lecture room design, which I didn’t get a photo of. Sorry.

Block F3

Not 1, but 2 projector screens in this lecture room. All lecture rooms are equipped with projector screens.

Will this new teaching block be enough? I doubt so. Probably it can sustain for another 3 to 5 years or so, before they start building another one. By that time, I have to come back to have a look at the university…..

Puzzle 1 - Hair Cut

March 25, 08 by -FCUK-

Here is a new section of my blog, which is a puzzle section. This is quite an easy puzzle though. You just have to guess who is in the photo. No peeking.

Puzzle #01

Hint: A familiar face with a new hair cut.

Is Shave The New Expression?

March 23, 08 by -FCUK-

Don’t worry, this is not the American Pie phrase of “Is shave the expression?”. It’s a different, clean cut one, where the change of appearance can be seen without having to lose out the undergarments. What you guys want to see might be a shocking discovery though, depending on personal tolerance.

Normal Hair

This is me, before transformation.

Shaved

Partially revealed.

Shaved

Fully exposed. Yeah, a different one now. Pimples are there just to make it natural.

So no worries for hairstyle for probably a month or so. No over extended long hair at the forehead to irritate my eyes. And less friction perhaps on my hair while playing Ultimate Frisbee. That may not be true, but that is what I would prefer to believe in. Sports week starting on Monday and let’s just hope we can do it…..

Scarlett Johansson and Oxfam America

March 11, 08 by -FCUK-

Want to meet Scarlett Johansson and do your part for charity? Well, head down to eBay.com and bid for a short date with Scarlett. All the proceeds will go to Oxfam America, which is an organisation which helps to overcome poverty. The price now is already more than $38,200. If I have the money, I would go for it, as the opportunity to meet a celebrity is usually rare.

Apart from that, gown worn by Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives star) and Jimmy Choo Shoes worn by Oxfam Ambassador, Helen Mirren are also up for auction to support the Oxfam charity. The two products would be quite stunning for a woman to have, and yes Jimmy Choo is a Malasyian. So, do your part for charity, if you can afford to….

Anyway here are the links for the auctioned products:

New State Governments

March 09, 08 by -FCUK-

The Malaysian 2008 Election ended with Barison National(BN) losing out the control of 5 states to the opposition, with my state being one of them. Probably a lot of Malaysians are surprise about this even though so many advertisements have been made to create the awareness on BN, but not for me though.

Kedah, Kelantan, Penang, Perak and Selangor are now under the opposition parties’ control. As a boy who grew up North, I would say that the states are growing really slow, except for Penang. That probably explains why the Northern residents would love to have a change, and hopefully to improve the developments, with logical sense. Trust me, my state has really a lot of illogical developments which no one could ever think of, and I do not know how previous State Government can go on with that. They know, and we know that they know, but they prefer to think that we don’t know, but we know.

So why did this happen? 2 Reasons I suppose:

  1. Advertising through HOTMAIL, the television and radio, do prove a point. The Barison National party has started to lose of confidence, even though the motive was to create a hugh awareness among the people. However, another side of the advertisements tell me that they are afraid, which is why they did this to the extent of advertising on my Hotmail and MSN. Oh and, I hope they know that it is really irritating, which could probably irritated some of the voters.
  2. I guess we, citizens, would want a change or new leadership and management. The previous management of state governments weren’t that bad overall, but a new change is needed, because previous management weren’t achieving their potential efficiency. If you take up Economics, you would have heard of the term “X-inefficiency”. You may laugh, but it might as well be quite true.

It’s normal for management to change, so there’s nothing big to hype about out there. Even football clubs change management. With the likes of Avram Grant and Carlo Ancelotti currently, they will be quite out if they don’t do well. This reflects government control as well. Nothing really big about it, we just have to wait for results to see. If the likes of Juande Ramos pops out, we will definitely be happy. Empty promises do not always work. We will know whether we are happy or not.

We, always know…..

Australia Migration?

Migrate to Australia

The banner seemed to say that Australia is better to live in. Want to move there? But wait, are you being patriotic then? Hmm……

Emotions Flickering

March 04, 08 by -FCUK-

Hearing “I Finally Found Someone” makes me feel something which I have not felt for quite sometime. What is that feeling? I do not have the exact word to describe it, but in general terms, it would be emotional? But what is emotional? Does it mean feeling sad or feeling down? Why can’t it be happy when it comes to emotional, since happy is also an emotion.

Anyway, what does this mean to me? Well, I’m hoping to produce a nice piece of article, not great, but just a average nice one. I have been in desperation to write as good as the articles in my first blog which were written during my secondary school days. Why can’t I find the inspiration ever since then? Is it because I need to be in deep depression state in order to obtain that achievement?

Semester 2 of my year one. The dateline for the application to UK has passed and I did not apply for it. Shocked? Not for me. Why? I will leave the reasons for another poss, if I ever want to post it (which I am still considering). Entering into week 6 makes me feel that time has passed so fast and I do not understand much from my lecture notes. This really makes it bad. Really bad. How would the results for my upcoming exam be like if this goes on? I am not sure, probably I might lose my 25% scholarship too. The outcome, will be based on my actions. Probability? Guess I have too much Maths.

How would the working life be like next time? Intern this summer vs working with my family? Where to stay if I were to take up intern? I have no idea. 3 months till summer break and decisions have not been made. Climbing up the corporate ladder next time would need a lot of effort, but is there a strong will and drive inside me to produce the effort? Or rather I would feel content with the life of simple emotional times, where you wish the time would just stop for the moments to last? How I wish I can be in the latter forever, but reality does not permit beautiful moments to last forever.

Emotional me? Maybe. I guess I am satisfied with this piece of article. I find satisfaction in writting, but certainly not Business Law. Could I be a writer? But there are always those who could write better. Time for a confidence talk…..
